Intex ELYT e6 with 3GB RAM launched in India at INR 6,999


Intex Elyt E6Indian smartphone vendor Intex has added a new budget Android phone – ELYT e6 – to its smartphone portfolio in the country. The phone has been priced at INR 6,999 and will be available exclusively at e-retailer Flipkart.com. It will go on sale beginning December 15.
“Our special ELYT series launched this year has been well received in the market and going with the consumers’ response we have launched ELYT e6 model, designed for the online platform (exclusively on Flipkart) for tech savvy youth. Having multiple features with a focus on multitasking and storage capacity, this tech marvel will surely prove to be a customer’s delight, said Nidhi Markanday, Director, Intex Technologies, in a statement.
Intex ELYT e6 sports a 5-inch HD IPS screen and is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6737V processor. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and packs a 4000 mAh battery. Other specifications include 4G VoLTE support, dual-SIM card slots and the usual set of connectivity options.
In terms of the memory, there is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage on-board the ELYT e6 as well as a microSD card slot with support upto 128GB.
At the given pricing, the Intex ELYT e6 will compete with Redmi 4 in the country, which offers similar specifications. The launch of Redmi 5, which was unveiled in China recently, in the coming months will further make it hard for the ELYT e6 to find buyers.

Further expanding its Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative portfolio, Indian telecom operator Airtel has partnered with Intex to offer three of the company’s 4G Android phones with cashback offers.
“We are really pleased to see the continued positive response to our ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative from customers as well as smartphone manufacturers. We are delighted to have Intex on board as a partner and their brand familiarity plus distribution reach will add to our affordable smartphone proposition and offer more choice to our customers,” said Ajai Puri, Chief Operating Officer (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel, in a statement.
The three Intex phones, which will be eligible for Mera Pehla Smartphone offer, are Aqua Lions N1, Aqua A4 and Aqua S3. According to Airtel, the buyers of these 4G phones will be able to claim cashback of INR 15000 if they go for the INR 169/ month prepaid plan for 36 months or do recharges worth INR 3000 within the first 18 months of purchase (to claim the first cashback of INR 500) and another INR 3000 over the next 18 months (to claim the second cashback of INR 1000).

  • Android 7.0, 4-inch WVGA screen, 1750 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 5MP rear camera and 2MP selfie camera
Intex Aqua S3: INR 5,879
  • Android 7.0, 5-inch HD IPS screen, 2450 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera

Apart from these Intex phones, Airtel also offers Karbonn phones like A1 Indian, A41 power and A40 Indian as well as Celkon Smart 4G under the Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative.

Intex Elyt DualIndian smartphone vendor Intex has introduced a new Android phone in the country. Dubbed as Intex Elyt Dual, the new phone is a part of the company’s entry-level portfolio and targets the selfie-enthusiasts.
The company has included dual-camera setup on the front of the phone with 8MP and 2MP sensors to help the consumers in capturing great selfies. On the rear, Intex has packed 8MP camera with LED flash. There are a number of software customisations in the camera app as well.
Among other specifications, the Intex Elyt Dual sports a 5-inch 720p HD screen. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum 9850 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM. Additionally, there is 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and 2400 mAh battery in the phone.
On the software front, you will get Android 7.0 Nougat on-board the Elyt Dual. There is no word on whether the phone will ever get the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
The phone will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Y1, Y1 Lite and Karbonn Smart Selfie smartphones in the country.

Price and availability

According to Intex, Elyt Dual will carry a price-tag of INR 6,999 and will go on sale in the coming days. It will be offered in Champagne and Black colour options
