HTC unveiled U11 Life in two versions- Android One and Sense

HTC has unveiled HTC U11 Plus as an upgraded and enhanced version of its predecessor– HTC U11. As reported by AnTuTu in May 2017, HTC U11 is the best performing smartphone around. Along with HTC U11 Plus, the company also introduced HTC U11 Life as a mid-range smartphone. The smartphone has been released in two variants- Android One and Sense.

The Android One variant runs pure and stock version of Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. HTC U11 Sense, however, runs HTC’s UI skin on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. The smartphone comes with Amazon Alexa pre-installed alongside Google Assistant and will be exclusive to North America. HTC U11 Sense will be updated to Android Oreo 8.0 soon after its release.
Although both smartphones come with different names, are almost identical in hardware and features. HTC U11 Life boasts a 5.2-inch 1080p Super LCD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 mobile platform. The handset has a choice between 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage or 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage capacity. Both variants support additional storage via microSD slot.
The smartphone features a 16 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, phase detection autofocus, Geo-tagging, 4K video recording and LED flash. It houses a 16 MP front camera with f/2.0 sensor, and is capable of shooting 1080p videos. The handset packs a decent 2,600mAh Li-Ion battery and USB Type-C port. However, the smartphone did not include the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
HTC U11 Life also features Edge Sense, which lets you squeeze the phone in order to perform specific actions. The Sense version is available for $349 in the US starting today. However, there is no information available about the pricing and availability of Android One variant.
