Samsung has been beta testing Android 8.0 Oreo for their flagship Galaxy S8 for a while now. But, still they didn’t start beta testing for the Galaxy Note 8. But, the test Oreo build for the unlocked Galaxy Note 8 (US variant – Snapdragon 835) leaks out by a random Reddit user. The user even posted the links for the ROM as well as steps to install it.
In order to install that leaked test Oreo build on your Galaxy Note 8, you must be on the latest build which is N950USQS2BQK2. However, this build is now only available on the Verizon unlocked variants. But, you can install this build on any unlocked variant which is necessary to install the leaked test Oreo build. As the Oreo build is a test one, it might contain some major bugs and problems. Hence, it can’t be used as a daily driver. Also, install the build only if you have some knowledge regarding ROMs and similar stuff. Because, if anything goes wrong your phone may not come under warranty and you will have to pay extra charges to revert it back to normal. Anyways, if you are interested in trying this build, here’s the link to that Reddit post. However, Samsung will be rolling out stable Oreo updates to its smartphone lineup starting January according to Samsung Turkey.
